15+ Craft Ideas To Do With Halloween Coloring Sheets
Looking for fun activities that can lower stress or keep the kids busy this Halloween?
Using this collection of free Halloween coloring pages as inspiration, we've compiled 17 project ideas designed to bring your family together. These activities are a great way to flex your individual creativity and have lots of fun with your toddlers, older kids and even adult friends.
From simple bookmarks to creative wall art, each project becomes a unique opportunity to connect, unwind, and immerse in some spooky fun.
1. Halloween Bunting:
Choose a variety of pages that will get you in the Halloween spirit and color them in using your favorite mediums.
Once they're done and dry, cut the coloring pages into triangles or shapes such as bats, pumpkins, ghosts, or candy corn.
Punch holes at the top corners of each piece and thread a long string through the holes.
Now, hang your unique Halloween bunting across the room for unique handmade decor for your classroom or Halloween party.
2. Lanterns:
Print spider webs, scary witches and even Mickey Mouse coloring pages. After coloring them in, cut out the designs, the more detailed, the better.
Apply glue on the back of your cutouts and stick them on the outside of a glass jar or clear plastic container.
Once dry, place a battery-operated candle inside. Your DIY lantern will cast eerie colored shadows around the room.
3. Halloween Bookmarks:
Trim your colored pages into long strips, about two inches wide and six inches long.
Use a hole puncher to create a hole at the top of each bookmark. Loop a piece of orange, black, or purple yarn through the hole to finish off your Halloween bookmark.
Hand out as a candy-alternative for trick-or-treating!
4. Fridge Magnets:
After you color and cut out your Halloween pictures, stick them onto adhesive magnetic sheets. Trim the excess magnetic paper around your image. Stick these fun, spooky magnets on your fridge to hold up your favorite seasonal recipes or reminders.
5. Decoupage Halloween Pumpkins:
Choose your favorite spooky spiders, jack o'lanterns, and skeleton coloring pages.
Color the Halloween pictures and cut out the main shapes.
Apply a layer of Mod Podge (or similar adhesive) onto a real or artificial pumpkin and stick your images on it.
Cover the images with another layer of Mod Podge to seal them. This can be a great twist on traditional pumpkin carving, particularly if your kids struggle with the sensory experience of pumpkin "guts."
6. Door Wreath:
Cut your colored pages into leaf shapes or other Halloween themed shapes like bats or ghosts.
Arrange these shapes into a circle on a cardboard base, then glue them down.
Tie a ribbon at the top and hang it on your door to greet trick-or-treaters.
7. Scrapbook:
Use a blank scrapbook and stick your colored Halloween pictures to the pages. Add photos of your kids or pets in their Halloween costumes.
Then write captions, and decorate with stickers and washi tape to capture your favorite memories of the spooky season.
8. Halloween Greeting Cards:
Trim sections of your completed Halloween coloring pages to fit on the front of a blank card. Glue the picture to the card and add additional decorations if you'd like. (I personally love puffy paint!)
For a pop-up card, cut out an image, fold a piece of paper accordion-style, and glue the image at the end.
Glue the other end of the accordion fold to the inside of the card. When opened, the image will "pop" out!
9. Place Mats:
Glue your colored pages onto a larger piece of construction paper or cardstock. Trim to the desired placemat size, then laminate them or use contact paper to cover them.
These DIY placemats can add a handmade charm and protect your table from kids of all ages.
10. Picture Frames:
To make a Halloween-themed picture frame, start by cutting a rectangle out of the center of your colored page.
Stick your colored frame onto a piece of cardboard or thick paper for support. Cut out the middle of the cardboard in the same shape as you did with your colored page.
Now, stick a photo or mirror onto the back of your cardboard to create a unique Halloween DIY project.
11. Spooky Window Decorations:
Transform your windows into a hauntingly beautiful display. Print out free printable Halloween coloring pages and coloring them in with vibrant markers or colored pencils. Once colored, cut out the designs and attach them to your windows using double-sided tape.
Watch your windows come to life with spooky ghosts, creepy spiders, jack o'lantern, and grinning pumpkins. It's a simple and fun way to add some spooky spirit to your home for the Halloween season.
12. Halloween Masks:
Get ready for a spooktacular time by printing out your favorite Halloween coloring pages and coloring them in. After coloring, cut out the design and punch holes on the sides. Attach a string or elastic band, and voila!
Put on your one-of-a-kind mask and transform into a witch, vampire, or any other creepy creature you desire. Get ready for some trick-or-treating fun!
13. Trick or Treat Bags:
Make Halloween night even more special by printing out several Halloween coloring pages and coloring them in.
Fold each page in half and use glue or tape to secure the sides, creating a bag shape. Punch holes at the top and thread a ribbon or string through them to create handles.
These personalized bags are perfect for Halloween class parties at school.
14. Monster Puppets:
Print out your favorite drawings of zombies, monsters, and vampires. Color in the spooky creatures and cut them out. Glue or tape a popsicle stick to each character.
Engage in imaginative play and have a monstrously good time.
15. Halloween Treat Boxes:
Make Halloween even sweeter by creating your own treat boxes. Print out your Halloween free coloring pages and color them in. Cut out larger designs like pumpkins or black cats. Fold the sides of the designs inward to create a box shape and secure the edges with tape or glue.
Fill these fun treat boxes with candies or small surprises.
16. Halloween Paper Fans:
Stay cool while looking cool with Halloween paper fans. Print out your Halloween coloring pages and color them in. Cut out rectangular strips or circles from the colored pages. Accordion-fold the strips or pleat the circles to create paper fans. Secure the ends with tape or glue.
Hang them up as decorations or use them to cool off during Halloween parties or parades. It's a fun and refreshing way to celebrate the spooky holiday.
17. Halloween Memory Game:
Exercise your memory while having a blast with a festive memory game. Print out multiple copies of your favorite happy Halloween coloring page and color them in.
Cut out each design to create pairs. Shuffle the cards and lay them face down on a table or the floor. Play with friends or family and see who can find the most pairs.
Remember, the fun is in the creating, not just the final product. Don't hesitate to put your own personal touch on these free coloring pages. Happy Halloween!
